To maintain the system in good working order, you will need either the ArborSystems Multi-Purpose tool or a pair of pliers, crescent wrench, and screwdriver. A straightened paper clip is also useful to clear debris from the bottle drawdown assembly.

To remove the outlet check valve, place the pliers on the Wedgle Tip adapter and unscrew it by turning it counterclockwise. Take out the check valve assembly which is composed of the check valve, spring and O-ring. To clean the adapter, put a straightened paper clip all the way through to remove any debris.

To remove the drawdown assembly, put the pliers on the square part of the assembly and unscrew it. Take out the inlet check valve assembly (which is identical to the outlet check valve).

Inspect and clean any debris from both check valve assemblies. Any small pieces from the orange rubber bottle cap should be removed along with any other small particles.

In order for the bottle drawdown attachment to operate correctly both needles need to be free from debris and the air valve must be clean and flexible. The short needle allows the chemical to be taken into the unit and the long needle allows air to enter into the bottle so the bottle won’t collapse. The air valve is designed with a split end which allows air into the bottle without releasing chemical.

To clean the needles and air valve, unscrew the bottle clamp and remove the storage cap, exposing the two sharp needles. Remove the air valve from the drawdown assembly. Roll the air valve between your fingers to assure that it is flexible and free from debris. Replace the air valve if it is not flexible.

To clean debris from the needles, place a straightened paper clip through each needle. You should then be able to see light through the short needle. The long needle ends inside the drawdown assembly so you will not be able to see through it.

Reinsert the air valve into the drawdown assembly. Remember to replace the storage cap over the needles when the chemical bottle is not attached.

Use a screwdriver to unscrew the piston connector rods. Be careful not to lose the lever nuts from inside the handles.

Pulling the cap piece off will reveal the piston assembly, piston spring and the O-ring. The entire unit can now be cleaned with soap and water prior to reassembly.
