  1. Why is ArborSystems introducing the new Wedgle Direct-Inject Tree Injection System?

The Direct-InjectTM system is an innovative, proven-effective, time-saving, tree-friendly method for injecting trees—and the ONLY system that does not require drilling. However, the original Wedgle Direct-Inject unit had some limitations. It was ideal for treating hardwoods, but less suitable for treating conifers and palms. Plus, we thought the process of attaching chemical bottles and injection tips could be improved.

The new Wedgle Direct-Inject Tree Injection System features Quick-Connect attachments that let you quickly and easily snap on QC Chemical Packs and QC Injection Tips. It’s a huge time saver and there is very little maintenance required. We are also proud to introduce two new QC Injection Tips designed specifically for treating conifers and palms.

  2. Conifers and Palms? Resin-filled conifers have always been tough to treat. And thick- husked palms, how can you inject those?

Our new Portle Tip for conifers is longer, stronger, and has multiple “ports” along the injection tip to disperse chemical in various directions deep in a conifer where it can be translocated most effectively and is unlikely to seep out.

The new Palm Tip is our longest, heaviest tip, designed to punch through the outer husk of the palm. These two types of tips are inserted with our new TipSetter—–a simple, effective tool that correctly sets injections tips with just a few easy sliding taps.

  3. Tell me more about the new Quick-Connect Chemical Packs.

The new chemical packs hold 120 ml of chemical, just like the original chemical bottles. The advantage to the packs is that they snap on and off the injection unit in a flash. Plus the packs are air free, so they are easy to prime, empty completely, and work at any angle.

  4. Okay, your new system sounds great. But I already own a Wedgle Direct-Inject unit. I don’t really want to buy a new injection unit. What are my options?

Wedgle injection units can be easily upgraded to accept the new Wedgle Direct-Inject unit Injection Tips and Chemical Packs. Upgrades are made either by your distributor or by ArborSystems.

If you purchased your Wedgle after May 31, 2007, there is no charge for the upgrade. If you purchased before June 1, 2007, there is a minimal cost to upgrade. Ask your distributor for details about upgrades.

  5. What about the old chemical bottles and new Quick-Connect Chemical Packs? I don’t want to throw away chemical I currently have on hand.

ArborSystems and its distributors are accepting chemical bottles for return whether they are full or partially used. We will be issuing credits toward the purchase of new chemical packs. We have developed a chemical trade-in system that will make this process as simple and hassle-free.

  6. So, will you be supporting the Wedgle injection unit and still selling chemical in bottles?

Our plan is to support the Wedgle and offer bottled chemical for sale through the end of 2008. We will continue to offer replacement parts for the Wedgle for some time after that. Starting June 1, 2008 we are no longer selling the Wedgle injection unit.

We encourage all Wedgle owners to upgrade their units before the end of 2008.

If you have any additional questions, please contact your ArborSystems distributor.
